A Fekete Madonna pécsi másolatának története

A 20. század első felében a Magyarországon dolgozó lengyeleknek köszönhetően új erőre kapott a Częstochowai Szűzanya kultusza. Ők hoztak másolatot Kisújszállásra, Budapest-Óhegyre, vagy festették föl freskóként Kiskőrös és Kiskunhalas temploma falára. Az itt látható kép szintén ebből az időszakból való, 1934-ben ajándékozta a hazatérő pálosoknak Pius Przeździecki generális (egy másik, a Sziklakolostorba kerülő, de azóta elpusztult példánnyal együtt). A rendfőnök azt mondta, nem tud sok kincset ajánlani, de ez a két kép a legnagyobb kincs és a Szűzanya a legjobb Vigasztaló.

The history of the copy of The Black Madonna in Pécs

Thanks to the Polish who were working in Hungary in the first half of the 20th century, the veneration of the Virgin Mary in Częstochowa was revived. They brought copies to Kisújszállás and Óhegy in Budapest or fresco painted in the Churches of Kiskőrös and Kiskunhalas. This painting is from that period, it was given to commemorate the homecoming of Pauline Fathers by the Superior General Pius Przeździecki in 1934 (together with another copy which was on display at the Cave Monastery but has since been destroyed). The Superior General told them that although he could not have offered a huge treasure, these two pictures are the most valuable pieces of treasure and the Virgin Mary is the best consolation.
